Whatever the case may be, we’ll continue to update on Project Cerberus as we hear more.įor more from Insider Gaming, check out Microsoft’s statements that the PlayStation X Call of Duty deal will end next year. With Nintendo recently signing a 10-year deal with Microsoft to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo platforms, maybe Call of Duty needs a past-generation console version moving forward. The images were obtained via Call of Duty warzone mobile, with one image featuring the Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk, a retired American attack aircraft introduced in October 1983. Previous leaks by dataminer RealityUK, shared some images of Call of Duty 2024 in 2022. Such a change, which was implemented for COD 2.0 is to make the development cycle more seamless across studios. What adds a little credence to the potential of another past-generation game for Call of Duty though, is that Call of Duty now runs off the same engine, no matter which studio is developing it. This suggests that although a past-generation version of Call of Duty 2024 was planned at one time, the references found could be outdated. ![]() However, as mentioned in our last report of the data breach, it appears that some of the information that was publically released on Twitter has already changed. Although Insider Gaming cannot dive deep into the information stated in the documents, references to Cerberus being on past-generation consoles can be found. Previous rumblings around the Call of Duty franchise have suggested that Call of Duty will finally be ending its past generation releases with Call of Duty 2023 which will be released later this year. 2,613 579.86MB Official Patches Call of Duty: World at War v1.5 Patch + Map Pack 2 Official World at War patch by Treyarch. This patch upgrades your retail copy of World at War from V1.2 to V1.4 (or V1.3 to V1.4) with addit. That may change as I dig deeper into the beta, but from early impressions it seems that not even Keifer could save America this time.Documents provided to Insider Gaming from the Activision data breach from December 4, 2022, suggest that Call of Duty 2024, codenamed Cerberus, could be coming to past generation consoles. 2,008 60.95MB Official Patches Call of Duty: World at War v1.4 Patch + Map Pack 1 Official World at War patch by Treyarch. While in terms of interface and on-paper design Treyarch didn't do much to Infinity Ward's excellent formula, and the basics are all well-represented, in play and in some of the newly-revealed details it's clear that they just haven't captured the magic of Call of Duty 4. This was the first of the game's adversarial multiplayer that I'd gotten to play, and sad to say I walked away a little disappointed. And to have the little melee skirmishes going on while vehicles are driving around winds up being a bit frustrating rather than exciting, as taking them out in the cramped and intricate levels is difficult and more often than not results in a suicide-which it turns out isn't quite painless. In the games that I've played, it's not rare to see full on melee wars break out in certain confined parts of the generally more intricate maps. EDIT: After a correction by a comment, it turns out that its not a total ban, its only that the game wont be available on PS4 in Russia. Because the majority of the weapons in the game are pretty inaccurate (as they should be in a World War II game), melee is more important and more brutal than it was in COD4. But, more importantly, the increased amount of melee combat that goes on results in some strange situations. The action is fast and furious, melee attacks are ruthlessly efficient, and the basic feeling of COD4 is intact at a low level.įirst of all, the beta maps aren't exactly huge. ![]() The inclusion of kill streak-based rewards is also familiar, though the UAV, airstrike, and helicopter have been replaced with spy planes, artillery, and attack dogs. The familiar inclusion of ranks and perks are immediately evident, as you begin earning experience through kills and other on-field actions to unlock more weapons and better abilities. On paper and even at first blush, the multiplayer of Call of Duty: World at War is almost a play-by-play remake of COD4. And while the game's co-operative experience and story campaign may be worth playing through, spending a night in the PC version's multiplayer beta has revealed that the title is unlikely to win over fans of the excellent online action of its predecessor. ![]() Treyarch's Call of Duty: World at War was criticized out of the gate for attempting to cash in on the success of Call of Duty 4 while stubbornly returning the series to the overdone World War II era.
